Obituary

CABLE, Dean W., 86, of Sandston, Va., passed away on May 10, 2009. He was born January 14, 1923 in Wakefield, Nebraska, to the late Walter Cable and Opal Brittin. After being raised in Omaha, he served his country during World War II as a U.S. Marine in the Pacific Theater. Dean was a member of the American Legion Post # 144, and loved antique cars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, in 2003, and a granddaughter, Lisa Cable. Survivors include three sons, Dean Jr., Dennis and David; his brother, Dale; and sister, Ramona; grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Travis, Keith, Aaron, Vincent and Samantha; step-grandchildren, Wendy, Lisa, Casey, Sarah, Austin; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at the Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum Chapel, where services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13. Entombment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.

Im so sorry to hear about Pops passing. I never had the priviledge to meet him, but I know he was a sweet man who was very special to your family. He could always make us laugh when he would call MAG to talk to one of you guys :) My thoughts and prayers are with you during this tough time.
