I am saddened that after 17 years since his passing that I can only find a handful of of rememberences here in Dean Collins memory. It is now August of 2022 and I am here to pay my respects and profound appreciation to the man that singularly most made the greatest impact on my photographic career and subsequent endeavors into the realm of photographic and cinema graphic lighting control. To the Collins Family - Jesus said, "Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). May God comfort all of you during this most difficult time. Although I never met Dean he was instrumental in reuniting me and my long, lost friend Tony Corbell (who was a business associate of Dean's at Finelight). Dean walked in the studio one day with my letter in his hand and asked Tony,"Hey, do you know Art Ortiz?" Tony's mouth dropped. Thank you Dean for everything you taught me....

My memories of Dean go back to the beginning of my career as a Commercial Photographer. I will miss his humor and uncanny ability to pull talented people together. He was an inspiration to many prople in the photographic industry. His legacy will live on in his family, the people he trained and the friends that loved to joke with him.
