Not sure what to say?

Tom Uebrick just informed me of Deans passing. I'm so sorry to hear this. Haven't seen Dean in many years but his sister Kathy kept me updated. Prayers to the family

Mr. Nicolai was one of our favorite teacher, We will never forget him.
Collin Letts and Patrick Letts.

My acquaintance with you spanned only the last quarter of my freshman year, and though its impact was unknown to you even then, I remember clearly that spring morning in 1991 when I walked into my first class, on my first day, at my new school. You sat me at a table next to Miss Nicole Check who quickly became my lifelong friend. Thanks, Mr. Nicolai.

Dear Mr Nicolai, thank you so much for being who you were and giving me the opportunity to share a few formative years of my life with you. I considered you a friend and role model. Of all the teachers I encountered in my education, none influenced me the way that you did. I often speak of you and reference your impact on who I am today. Stephanie, my heart aches for you. Dean was a special friend of over 20 years who never tired of discussing our beloved Tigers team with me. His WHS legacy will live on through the accomplishments of hundreds of "his" students. I hope that you can feel all of the love and support flowing your way.
Sincerely,
Sue/ "V" VanRiper

Family gatherings will never be the same. Deans many stories will be missed along with his knowledge on nearly any subject. We will miss you Dean, as I'm sure your friends and colleagues will also. Fly high brother.

I was very fortunate to teach Physics in the room next to Dean's classroom at Baker Jackson. We often laughed and shared very poor "nerd" jokes that only science aficionados would enjoy! Dean's wit and charm will be missed and I am a better person and professor for having known him.

Rest well Professor. You will be truly missed.

Van Stewart

Dean was a wonderful, engaging person that I loved talking to each time I saw him. He will be greatly missed. Our world has lost a beautiful human being. My sincere condolences.

Dean was a great teacher and even better friend. While we often disagreed politically and philosophically, it only heightened our respect for each other as we disagreed without being disagreeable. Dean's knowledge, his passion for learning and his stories set him apart, but it was his passion for teaching others that elevated him to even loftier heights. While Dean taught elementary science principles to elementary would-be teachers at Baker College, his students' pass rate was 100% and he...
