Dean was a member of Sirloin Club, Elks Club, Colorado Cattle Feeders Association, Longs Peak Water Board, Ryssby Committee as a founding family member, and a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church. Dean and Dorothy were avid CSU football Fans and enjoyed many seasons of football together over the years. Dean enjoyed wood turning, fishing, traveling, playing cards, he was also an avid reader of history and old westerns. I had the pleasure of working with Dean in 2015. Even after I moved, I would think of him often and wonder how he was doing. I have never had such fond memories of working with anyone like I did Dean! He and I hit it off so well, and he was so patient with me as I learned the ropes of being a CNA. He graciously ate my meal ideas and always had something witty to say. His sense of humor always kept me on my toes; there was more than one occasion that he pretended to slip and caused me quite a panic! My favorite memories are when we would sit on the front porch together, and Dean would tell me stories of the past. He was such a good man. Dean, I miss you but I am so happy that you are with your wife again. My deepest condolences to the family.

How pleased my Grandfather, Walter Carlson was to sell his farm to Dean and Dorothy, sayin they were such fine and wonderful people. We,Dave and me, were able to visit Dean and toured his home and the farm which he graciously opened to the family of Doris Carlson Dreher to see and remember. Dave`s family also is active at Ryssby. With sympathy for his family, Dave and Dianne Nelson
