Dean and I went to school together when he earned his PhD at OSU and I worked with him (really worked for him) at Battelle for several years. He was a fine mentor and leader. He never rubbed it in about my running out of gas on that business trip where we had to climb over a fence and cross a field to get to the service station. I will miss him. My deepest sympathy to Maria and the family.
