Dean and I were close friends from Mars Hill days when we used to play tennis together and he went home with me several times. He will always have a special place in my heart and memory. Love to you all. - Paul Gillespie, Asheville

Dr. Propst was a favorite among us English majors at Radford. His love of literature inspired us. So sorry to hear of his illness and passing. I have often thought of him over the years.

Dean was a country boy, served his country in the U.S.Navy where he developed a true compass and an even keel. He served Georgia in several key positions: Professor, Dean of Faculty, &several University System Committees at Armstrong State College. He came to the Regents Staff as Vice-Chancellor of
Academic Affairs,& later elected Chancellor.
H, Dean Propst passed all tests of Professional Collegiality, Personal Friendship, and Good Humor!

He has been my neighbor for as long as I can remember. I've been living in my apt. for some 22 yrs - so I'm not sure when he moved in. Just seems like he has always been there! His car was always parked in the same spot that I passed every day on my way in and out. (It was sad to see it empty this morning.)
