Dean C. Russell

As founding members of St. Matthew's Church in Ypsilanti, both Dean and Phyllis spent over 50 years welcoming new people to that church. And, after Phyllis died, Dean kept on doing that. And 25 years ago, when he heard our teenage daughter was interested in scuba diving, he and Phyllis invited us to their home to see slides of some of their scuba diving adventures. Such a giving couple. They have certainly left their mark on our family, in our church and in the Ypsilanti community.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell gave a lot of joy to all of us in the Ypsilanti community for many years. I am grateful to have crossed their path many years ago. Vickie, Jeff and all your family know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest condolences to Dean´s family. I remember many great times volunteering with Dean and Phylis while we lived in Ypsilanti. Through his eyes I enjoyed his fabulous travel experiences, many we shared through his remarkable photos. Vicki, thank you for sharing your wonderful parents with the Ypsilanti community, of course the first time I met them was many years ago when we were East Jr. High friends. My deepest sympathies to Dean´s family. I had the pleasure of knowing Dean and Phyllis since the early 90´s. I enjoyed receiving their Christmas cards with pictures of their travels.

I and all the Viva group members will miss Dean so very much. We had so much fun with both him and your Mom, and then with him for so many years. My deepest sympathy to all in your family.
