Weatherhead Young Funeral Home Obituary

Dean Volker, age 41, of Bricktown New Jersey passed away on April 30th, 2024. He was born in 1982 and was a resident of Brick, NJ where he attended and graduated from Brick High School.

At the early age of 7, Dean showed a passion for cooking.  You would find him often experimenting in the kitchen and creating the most delicious meals.  His Aunt Mary bought him his first waffle maker.  He enjoyed making delicious desserts and breakfast every morning for his mother and 2 older brothers, Cliffie and Robbie. However, I think most of all, he enjoyed eating the food he created.

Dean was the youngest of 3 boys.  Early on we recognized Dean to have such a kind soul. He would help his mother as much as possible but was often watching out for his eldest brother Cliffie, who was born blind and handicapped.  Dean was 6 years younger than his brother Cliffie but showed the empathy and compassion of a seasoned adult.  Without being taught or asked, Dean selflessly was attentive to his needs and always guided him around.

As Dean got a bit older, he began working at McDonald's when he met Nicole Perretti. They both started to work at a local (later famous) restaurant Rivoli’s, better known as the favorite Italian Restaurant for the Jersey Shore Crew and Cast.  Dean worked as a Chef where he furthered his knowledge and experience in cooking.

Once Dean became a father, he knew it was time to find a new career to take care of his family.  With the assistance, support and encouragement of his Father-in- Law, Richard Perretti, Dean completed a 5-year apprenticeship as an HVACR journeyman for Local 9 Plumbers and Pipefitters. He received his certification from the State Board of examiners of heating ventilating air conditioning and refrigeration contractors In June 2020. Dean enjoyed his work and worked very hard, which was often recognized by his employer.

Dean had such a calming demeanor, and you would never witness him being irritated or angry.  He was easy going and went with the flow.  He never had a bad word to say about anyone.  His kindness was engaging, sweet and endearing.

Dean was a proud father of 2 Sons, Geno and Lorenzo.  He adored his kids and loved them with all his heart.  Dean was a patient and compassionate father.  He and Nicole encouraged their kids to follow their dreams.  They provided the boys with support, courage and gave them strength to be the best they could be. Dean taught them to be kind, gentle, loving and compassionate.  Following in his Dads footsteps Geno, Dean’s eldest son also has a passion for cooking.  Dean enjoyed his time sharing recipes and teaching Geno how to cook, then of course afterwards eating their creations!  Lorenzo on the other hand, is very intuitive, observing his Dad when he fixes things around the house.  Dean teaches Lorenzo the mechanical operations of the many appliances he fixed along the way.  Dean was so overjoyed by both sons.  He will be forever watching over them and guiding them throughout life.

Aside from Parenting, Dean continued his kind heartedness by helping and caring for his Mother Barbara and Grandmother Julie.

The Peretti’s were a big part of Dean’s life for over 20 years, and he considered them his second family. The parents welcomed him as if he was one of their own sons and Nicole’s siblings accepted Dean as their brother.  The Family provided Dean with guidance and an abundant love that helped him to be the best person and Dad he could be. They will forever cherish the good memories they shared as a family with him.

On behalf of our entire family, both in blood and through marriage, we know he is in a better place, and he will be watching over all of us, especially his adored sons. Until we all meet again, our beloved Dean.

Dean is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Robert J Aiello, paternal grandparents, Ann and William Volker, and his eldest brother, Cliffie Volker. He was also preceded by 2 Grandmothers of the Perretti Family Eileen DeLuisi, and Gram Ann Marie Peretti, who recently passed. Dean and Gram shared a very special bond.

Dean is survived by his 2 sons Geno (10) and Lorenzo (6); his Mother, Barbara Aiello Cole, his father Clifford Volker Sr., and his wife Dori. He is also survived by his brother Robert Volker, and half-sister Leah Lindhorst; stepbrothers Sox and Matt Pisano; his maternal loving Grandmother Juliet Aiello; his adoring Aunts Mary Gailis and her husband Roland Gailis, Cindy Aiello and her husband Charles Morand; his neice Taylor Volker as well as his second Family the Peretti Family; Nicole along with her parents, Richard, Marilyn and siblings Richie, Marilyn and Mario.

Our Hearts will always feel a tremendous loss.

Not sure what to say?

It was a Pleasure to Know Dean, he was a Good, Friendly Guy, We had worked together currently and at a past company together in our field of Career, we had some good laughs and shared the Same Interests like Cooking and Music, he would Regularly emphasize how much he loved his 2 boys and his family, Knowing The Perretti Family, they looked out for him and Treated him like their own Son, He Will Be Truly Missed, My Prayers to The Family

I didn’t know Dean very well, but my son used to hang out with Rob(we called him Flacco) . I knew him as Robs little brother. We moved out of Birchwood park in 2008, but I remember Dean being a nice kid and Cliffie walking sround the neighborhood. Flacco was at our house quite a bit and they all were really sweet and respectful. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is breaking for you
