Not sure what to say?

I have been a tennis friend of Deanne's for many years, playing singles and doubles with her in Augusta and Waterville. Her courage and good humor remain an inspiration to my life and I am only sorry to be in Montana this summer and unable to attend her memorial meeting. Maine has lost a wonderful citizen and public servant.

Dede skipped competing in a tennis championship to volunteer as a photographer for my wedding. She was truly a generous spirit, and will be missed by all that had the opportunity to know her.

One day at work I asked Deanne what kind of apple she was eating. She said "The best ever, a Honey Crisp from The Apple Farm in Fairfield." She then promptly brought me one to try and I've been eating them ever since. Thank you, Deanne you will be missed.

On behalf of the enter Angel Flight NE organization, we send our condolences to Deanne's family & Friends. We were honored to have had the opportunity to fly her, but more importanltly to have gotten to know her. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Lovely woman!

I met Dede ages ago, playing tennis. And then she volunteered to be the photographer for MIFF and I really had a chance to get to know her. She preserved our history and created unforgettable memories. Last summer she gave me excellent advice on a camera to buy -- it is perfect for me. Whenever I use it I think of her. My most enduring memory of Dede is her smiling, standing against the wall at a MIFF screening, camera at the ready. She was the best! My heartfelt sympathy to her family and...

I met Dede as she walked Uno, her Cairn Terrier, at Quarry Rd, as I also have a Cairn. We walked a lot and talked about all kinds of things. She was a fine woman and I will miss those walks very much.

I am sorry to hear of her passing. In agriculture she has been a big part of my life and she will sadly be missed by all of us in the industry.
Sincerely Wanda and Jeff Thomas and family.

Dede beaming proudly at her little Una during her first puppy class graduation.

I am a dog trainer from Central Maine who had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dede and Una her sweet little Cairn Terrier. Dede took many classes with her little companion and I will truly miss having her around. I regret that I did not get all of Dede in this picture but I did, at least, get her smile as she beamed proudly for her little Una. May you rest in peace Dede.

Dede was a significant friend since we met in Waterville, Maine back in 1983. When I moved to Washington, D.C., Dede drove my U-Haul truck and helped load and unload. We always had a good time during our sometimes meetings in New York City, her intermittent trips to DC, and my one work trip back to Maine too many summers ago. First Dede took me to West Athens where many of her friends marched in their annual 4th of July Parade; then we saw the Spite of Life Players perform at the...
