Olga Dean “Deannie” Hodges, age 72, a resident of Pinetown, died Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.


A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Five Points Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.


The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.


Deannie was born on September 25, 1953, in Beaufort County to the late Jack Wallace and Olga Mae Waters Wallace. She was a 1971 graduate of Bath High School and attended Beaufort Tech. obtaining a degree in radiology and cosmetology. Deannie worked at Pungo District Hospital, Beaufort County Hospital, and the Belhaven Clinic, retiring in 2018. She was a member of Five Points Free Will Baptist Church. Deannie loved doing puzzles, making wreaths, she loved her basset hounds, she loved her church and she loved helping people in the community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnnie Mack Wallace, Jr.


Survivors include her husband, Clarence Eugene Hodges of the home, daughters, Julie Woolard (Robbie) of Washington and Jill Johnson of Wendell, brother, Bobby Wallace (Sybil) of Pinetown, sisters, Glenda Boyd (Halston) of Bath and Gail Harris (Henry) of Newport News, Va., grandchildren, Ashley Corbett and Nicholas Griekspoor, many beloved nieces and nephews and a great great niece.

Deannie was a dear friend indeed and I loved her dearly. I will miss her jokes , and her beautiful smile. Many prayers are flowing for Mr. Clarence and the rest of the family.

I will miss Deanne, talking with her at church, and our ladies trips. A sweet soul. Prayers for all her family and God bless you all.
