R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home - Hampton Obituary

Deborah Louise Carman, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2021. She was born on September 8, 1956 in Washington D.C. Deborah was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Jean Gresham and father Harry Ayers Carman. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Danielle Candace Logan; wonderful son, Erik Thomas Goodin; and sweet granddaughter, Kehlani Rose; two sisters, one brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Debbie was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. Debbie was also a registered nurse who loved taking care of the babies in the newborn nursery. She was always there for others and truly a shining example of unconditional love. Strong in her faith in Christ, she led by example in her good deeds for others, going on mission trips, and being vocal about her love for Jesus. Her infectious smile, spirit of joy, and unwavering optimism will be greatly missed by those she left on earth, and we will cherish the day we see her again in heaven.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30PM on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Williamsburg Memorial Park.

Debbie was my friend for many years. As stated in her obituary, I will remember her love for Jesus, her love for family, and her joy for life in general. She loved to laugh and bring a spirit of optimism to others.

I am still numb that you are gone-I have no words to describe the feeling that you are taking way too soon from this journey here on earth. I will miss all of our fun dinners and you laughing with Kehlani and having fun with my grands also. I know you are resting and having a great time up there. I will do my best to take care of Danielle and Kehlani who miss you so much. Rest In Paradise until we meet again.
