Deborah McCannon Casady

Deborah C. McCannon Casady, 59, of Burlington, died at 12:15 AM Thursday, February 10, 2011, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born December 27, 1951, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Lloyd "Augie" and Mary Katherine Willson McCannon. Deb was a homemaker and had worked at Print'n Place for several years, and had also bartended in various places. She was a 1970 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a member of the Moose and Eagles ladies auxiliaries. She enjoyed playing pool, darts, and was an avid Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Sue Yeager and Melinda Kay Belville both of Burlington; her mother, Mary K. Beggs of Burlington; three grandsons, Ryan, Bradley, and Trent; two great grandchildren, DaShawna, and Bryan; five brothers, Kevin B. (Cindy) McCannon, Dennis R. (Deborah) Beggs, Rickey D. (Laurie) Beggs, Marc A. (Irene) Beggs, Christopher A. (Christy) Beggs, all of Burlington; two sisters, Cindy L. (Steve) Robinson of Rockton, IL, and Linda L. (Larry) Ballard of Benton Harbor, MI; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Bonnie Bell of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her father, Augie McCannon, and her step father Ray Beggs, one niece, Angelia Robinson, and grandparents. The family will receive friends following a 1:00 PM Moose Rites Service until 3:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Ms. Casady will be 3:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Mr. Pat Reid (one of the boys) officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be at the Hass-Thielen community room following the service. As per Deb's request cremation will be accorded after the funeral service.
