Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home - Nappanee Obituary

Deborah Kay Holmes, 53, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on September 2, 2021 as a result of a motorcycle accident.  She was born on December 4, 1967, in Arlington Heights, IL, to Mathew J. and Delcina Jo (Trexler) Holmes.  Debbie is survived by her four children; Preston Clark (33), of Mishawaka, IN, Mathew  Shafer (25), of Elkhart, IN, Daniel Walter (18), of Goshen, IN, and Riley Walter (16), of Elkhart, IN; 2 grandchildren, Maddox and Juniper; mother, Delcina Jo Holmes, Elkhart; and 2 brothers, Stephen (Tabatha) Holmes of Elkhart, IN, and Denny (Sherry) Holmes of Jimtown.  She was preceded in death by her father.  Debbie loved spending time with her family and friends.  She spent any other time she had riding her motorcycle for what she would call, “wind therapy”.  She was truly one-of-a-kind, and will be deeply missed by her loved ones.  Friends and family may visit for one hour prior to the memorial service which will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 11am, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Homes in Nappanee, IN. Officiating the service will be Debbie’s friends and family.  Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Homes, Nappanee.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. You will forever be in my heart ♥

Debbie inspired me to ride, she was there when I bought my bike. She said when her brother started the bike "Nothing sounds like a Harley" she had a big smile on her face.
Few times I meant her she always had a glow when she rode with her brothers. A true bond of love and affection built within this wonderful family. God Speed..

So sorry for you loss, Debbie was a sweet person. She would come to the house and visit when she lived near me. We always had great conversation. She was a care free person with a big personality. I will continue to pray for her family.
