Honaker Funeral Home, Inc. - Slidell Obituary

The gates of Heaven opened wide late Saturday night, July 28, 2018, as the Good Lord commanded one of his most beloved servants home. Deborah Ann Hall Lagarde beautifully and graciously accepted her soul’s transformation to that of an angel of God, while surrounded by close family who had been keeping vigil in her Slidell home. Debbie was not only a loving and devoted mother and wife, she was also a friend to many, a guide for those lost, a cheerleader for those in need of positive encouragement, a devoted shepherd of Christ, and a woman of dignity and virtue. She displayed enviable strength and courage throughout life, but especially during her three very challenging battles with cancer.

Debbie is the beloved daughter of Mrs. Mavis Hall, and the late Mr. John Hall, the devoted wife of Manny Lagarde, the mother of Brittany Lagarde Daire and Adam Lagarde, mother-in-law to Tristan Daire, and friend to Adam’s girlfriend, Sarah Priest. She also leaves behind nephew Michael Fountain, his wife Latonia Fountain, and their children Brennen and Breanna Fountain. Her extended families include the James, Schlumbrecht, Gates, Surla, and Scott families of Slidell, and the Horridge family of Baton Rouge.

To share one’s life with others in such a spirited, positive, and caring way, as she did, will indeed keep her memory and legacy alive in all who knew her. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all who visited Debbie during her last days, and for all who helped supply the family with food and other types of support during this difficult time. “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Services for Debbie will be held at Celebration Church, 57030 Allen Rd, Slidell, LA 70461, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.

Visitation at the church will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
