Debbie was born in Flint on November 25, 1950. A lifelong Flint resident, she graduated from Flint Central High School in 1968. She was very active in many community matters and was a true believer in the spirit of the city of Flint. A fixture in youth sports her entire life, she relished the time she spent involved with the Flint Falcons Swim Club and the Davison Athletic Club. She also loved hockey. She had fond memories of her employment with the Flint Generals in the late '70's and '80's. She spent countless hours in arenas across north America as well as on the internet talking about the sport, often meeting new friends. Left to cherish Debbie's memory are her loving husband, Terry and her 12 year old daughter, Melissa. She leaves behind as well her loving mother, Amy Otterman. Also, her adult children, Gillian Brody, Bruce (Adriana) Jarrard and Todd Jarrard. She cherished the times that she spent with her grandsons, Alexander, Jacob, Zachary and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her father, Allan Otterman and her brothers, Dennis and Douglas Otterman. In lieu of flowers, the McDougall family wishes that you consider a contribution to be made to the Debbie McDougall Memorial Fund at http://tinyurl.com/debbie.

Not sure what to say?

I was a childhood friend of Debbie's growing up on Missouri Ave in Flint way back in the day.... Her Mother Amy just passed away in 2017 and I was shocked to see that Debbie had passed away several years ago in 2008 - I had not talked to her in many years but always kept up with her thru her Mother. Her parents were special friends of my parents. RIP dear old friend - sorry it took so long for me to send this note!!

I read Debbie's views on many subjects on the hockey message boards. She was a very intelligent woman who spoke her mind freely. Her input on the boards will be sorely missed. God bless her and her entire family. I am sorry for Debbie's passing.

I only knew Deb through her postings on hockey forums and of her love for Flint Pro Hockey but became a big fan of hers. We shared many views when it came to hockey and current events. I am sure I had met her at Generals games back in the 70's and 80's. God bless her, Terry, and all of her family and friends. Her insight on many things, will be missed by my wife and I.

Please accept my deepest sympathies.

I am so sorry to learn of Debbie's passing. She was a good friend of mine for over 50 years. We shared many laughs and tears over the years. She will be greatly missed.

Oh my, I am just so sorry to hear about this! Debbie was such a great person, and my kids just loved her.
She will always live on in my memories.

Terry, Jill, Bruce, Todd and Melissa, I was so sad to read in the paper today about Deb. While I had not seen her or talked to her in years, I thought about her often and kept telling myself that someday I would look her up and we could reconnect. She was a kind and generous person who was alway's proud of her childern. You will all be in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. I have wonderful memories of our friendship during our elementary and high school years.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
