RATLIFF, Deborah Dean (Klutts) - Of Flint, age 46, died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Minister Mark Aites officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society. Visitation 5-8PM Monday, 1-4 and 6-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Deborah was born in Flint, Michigan on May 11, 1957. She graduated from Southwestern High School in 1975. She was an active member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ. Surviving are parents, John and Mary Klutts; brother, John (Doug) and wife Cathy Klutts; sister, Sandra Dee and husband Gordon Gobeski; 3 nieces, Patrina Pratt, Bambi Klutts and Karen Klutts; great-niece and nephew, Destinie and Hunter; special companion, Charles Reed, Jr.; best friend, Paula (Smith) Butcher; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore and special sister-in-law, Juanita.

I am so sorry to have heard that Debbie had passed away. My mom called and told me. Sometimes it is hard to understand why God takes the young, and leaves us! I first seen Debbie in high school, we both attended Southwestern High and rode the bus to the Genesee Area Skill Center. I didn’t have any classes with Debbie we just occasionally spoke in passing on the bus. I really didn’t get to know her, my impression of her then was she spoke her mind with a rather sternly voice. 15 years later my wife and I had just closed on our newly purchased home.
