Debra Ann Engel, 53, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday evening, Jan. 4, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 26, 1960 in Saginaw, Mich., a daughter of Reinhold Norman and Alma Schiefer Hecht of Saginaw.
She is survived by her husband, Robert V. Engel.
She was a 1978 graduate of Buena Vista High School and was a commercial service representative with Phillips Insurance of Wilmington. She was a member of the Wilmington Lutheran Mission Church.
Her children are Brittany Rae (James Robert) Brunner of Sabina and Nicholas Alexander Engel of Wilmington.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Michael Engel.
Siblings are Sandy (Kenneth "Benny") Braeutigam and Linda (Paul) Bender, all of Frankenmuth, Mich., and Donna (Thomas) Schaeff of Saginaw.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Wilmington Lutheran Mission Church, 757 W. Main St. in Wilmington, with visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. also on Wednesday at the church.
Another memorial service will be held on Friday in Michigan with burial in the St. John's Cemetery, Frankenmuth, Mich. at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilmington Lutheran Mission Church, P.O. Box 1028, Wilmington, OH 45177.
The Littleton Funeral Home in Sabina is in charge of the arrangements.
