Debra Kay Geohagan, 64 of Kennett, daughter of George Dawson & the late, Shirley Jean Blaylock Dawson was born on Tuesday, February 28, 1956 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She departed this life on Saturday, October 23, 2020 at Northeast Arkansas Memorial Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Debra worked as a voter registration clerk for the Dunklin County Clerk’s Office and was a member of the Third Street Southern Baptist Church in Kennett, where she was a youth leader, organist and Pianist. She made a lot of memories while teaching children and youth at church. they were always “Her” kids and she loved them like her they were. Debra is also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Debra loved her church family and enjoyed serving in the church. Her motto was always god #1, family #2, and everything else can follow.

She was united in marriage to James “Cap” Geohagan on December 13, 1975 in Malden. He survives.

Other survivors include her father, George Dawson of Malden; sons, Douglas J. Geohagan & wife, Stephanie of Bernie and Ashley Brent Geohagan & wife, Brandi of Kennett; grandchildren, Brent Geohagan of Bernie, Andrew Geohagan, of Bernie, Dawson Geohagan of Kennett, Ashlyn Geohagan of Kennett and Mackenzie Meese of Bernie; church grandchildren Ella Jones, Zoie Cook and Ralei Cook; numerous nieces and nephews.

Debra loved to spend time with her family (they are her world). If there were family around, children or babies you can be sure a picture was being taken. She loved to be connected with distant family on the computer.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Dawson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Landess Funeral Home chapel from 11-12 P.M. Funeral services will follow in the Landess chapel at 12:00 P.M. Brother Bud Evans officiating.

Not sure what to say?

So shocked and sorry to hear of Debbie’s passing. James, God be with you at this time. Praying for you.

Debbie was a important part of my life growing up. My mother and she were very close. I think I started knowing Debbie when
I was very young and never a time do I remember her without a smile or a laugh. Family was always very important to her, but Jesus was always first. She has always been and will always be the meaning to me of a true Christian. James, Douglas And Ashley my thoughts and prayers are with you and I will keep you in my prayers. Love you all.

Aunt Debra always held a special place in my heart! I will never forget the love she always showed me, she will be truly missed! Sending love and prayers for strength for all of you.

So sorry for the loss of Debbie. She was such a great Christian woman and a friend to everyone she met. We will miss seeing her around town and at John's. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Jeff and Rhonda Troutt

Debra was more than just a good friend of so many years - she and Cap have been a true credit to our community. I'm so proud to have called her my friend - she will be deeply missed by the city and the people whom she served so well.

Mr. James & Mr. George, I am so shock to read of the passing of Debra. Please know my prayers are with each of you at this time.

You are forever loved and will be forever missed.
