Debra Lynne Horne Hall, born on September 28, 1952, in Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at Valley Healthcare Center in Chilhowie, VA. 


Throughout her life, Debra devoted herself to caring for others, spending most of her career working in hospitals and nursing homes. She began her journey at Haywood County Hospital in Waynesville, NC, in the dietary department, and later made her home in Chilhowie, where she dedicated many years to Smyth County Community Hospital before retiring from Francis Marion Manor. Debra was a woman of deep faith, a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, and a committed member of the Konnarock SDA Church. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, John R. and Grace I. Horne, and her dear brother, John D. Horne.


Survivors include her sister Sheryl Horne Carlton & husband Byron, and her loving niece which was the light of her life Ashley Carlton Deal & husband Daniel; along with numerous friends and co-workers. 


The family would like to express a special Thanks to Wanda Widener for her care and attention, Konnarock SDA Church for their visits, and the staff at Valley Healthcare Center for their support for Debra and the family. 


Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Thursday, July 24, 2025, from the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with Pastor Ilia Peno officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00PM on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held privately. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. I am so sorry to hear of Debra’s passing. I knew her when we both worked a Smyth County Community Hospital. She was a ray of sunshine.

I worked with Deb at the Manor she was always happy and truly loved her job...she would always put a smile on anybody she met. I'm so sorry to hear she's gone but I know she's in heaven making everyone there smile. She will be missed here though

I first met Debbie at SCCH. I fondly recall her laughter and upbeat personality. She was friendly and kind to everyone. Prayers for her family.

Debbie was a wonderful person. We was coworkers at FMM and we always kept in touch with each other
