Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Couchman, Debra Lynn (nee Nickel), Asleep in Jesus, Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the age of 57.

Beloved wife for fifteen years of Ryan Couchman; sister of Lois (John) Ronan, Janet (the late Randy) Jacob, and the late Gary Oehler; aunt of Brian (Denise) Oehler, Jaime (David) Jones, Chris Jacob; dear great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Debra was strong in faith, attended St. Paul's Lutheran in Des Peres, and graduated from Kirkwood High School. She had a long career in nursing, graduating from Missouri Baptist College. She loved animals and Beagles were her favorite. She was a watercolor artist specializing in animal portraits. She loved anything outdoors, biking, kayaking, hiking, gardening, and was an excellent cook. Debra was a strong person, hard worker, and generous to a fault. She gave 110% in anything she set her mind to. She loved her friends and family and will missed terribly.

Services: Memorial visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Tuesday, Oct. 17, 4:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Clare's House or Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Not sure what to say?

A beautiful and kind woman. Blessed to have her & husband as neighbors.
She will be missed.
Barb & Stan Prater

I am so sorry to learn of Debra’s passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will be forever grateful for my neighbor, Debbie, and the beautiful portraits she did of my dogs. Her and Scooby were a touchstone of my days. The world is a darker place now.

Debbie’s beautiful spirit has left us too soon. Sincere Condolences to the family.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Debby was an amazing nurse, friend, cook & artist & wife. She loved Ryan dearly! I was so inspired by her faith and the power of prayer. I am so grateful to have witnessed her passion for life despite her diagnosis. I'm comforted to know she is at peace with her Jesus & her Lord and Saviour.
My heartfelt condolences to her family & Ryan. My heart breaks for you. May God bring you comfort as you mourn the loss of a true light in this world

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. May you RestIn Peace with all the angels and saints
