Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC - Pen Argyl Obituary

Debra L. Mumbauer, 68, of East Stroudsburg, passed away, Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

Born in Easton on March 22, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Ruggiero, Jr. and the late Helen (Jacobson) Leech.

Debra was a 1974 graduate of Bangor Area High School, where she also attended Vo-Tech for culinary studies. Deb enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and never missed a televised NASCAR race. She loved cooking and reminisced often of her time at Vo-Tech as a young woman.  She mostly loved being with family any chance she could.

She faced life's challenges with remarkable strength and resilience, raising her two boys with pure unwavering determination.  Despite adversity, she met each day with grace and an indomitable spirit. Her legacy of courage and devotion to family and friends will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son David J. Mumbauer, Jr. and wife Kelly of Yulee, FL, three grandchildren, Reese, Peyton & Piper, two brothers, Leonard Ruggiero of Lansford and Keith Ruggiero of Bethlehem, a sister Jodi Cruver and husband Barry of Lehighton, as well as 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great-nephews and a great-niece. She was preceded in death by her son Dustin Mumbauer and sister Gina (Ruggiero) Jennings.

A Celebration of Life will be held, Monday, February 24, 2015 at 11 AM , at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be a visitation beginning at 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at St. John’s Cemetery, Bangor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered in Debra’s name to The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties - 2289 Avenue A, Bethlehem, PA 18017 to benefit the SPARC Program that her brother Keith has attended for several years.

RIP,And condolences to her family

Debbie and I attended Bangor Jr and Sr High School together. She was my best friend and I loved her so much. I am so heartbroken over her passing, as we lost touch for many years and just reconnected towards the end of last year. I was looking forward to visiting her when I came back north in the spring. I will treasure our friendship forever. I will miss you so much my friend, until we meet again.

Deb and I were best friends all through school always laughing and hanging out together. I remember all the times at the Beehive and Docs in Bangor. We use to go in there and ask for a cup of hot water and we would bring our own tea bag because we didn’t have any money. I will sure miss you Deb. It was so good to see you at our 50th Class Reunion. I will love you forever. My sincere condolences and prayers are with her Family.Until we meet again girlfriend I will never forget you.

Debbie we love you very much and you'll be greatly missed by Us. Love always John and Amy
