DEBRA E. ZIMMER

Debra E. (Ruotsalainen) Zimmer, 62, of Sturgeon Lake, passed away on November 11, 2016. Debra was born July 16, 1954 to Raymond and Shirley (Leppioja) Routsalainen.  Debra was a graduate of Moose Lake High School.  Debra was united in marriage to Daniel Zimmer on November 4, 1972 in Moose Lake. Together they settled in Sturgeon Lake where they had 4 children. Debra worked at the Moose Lake State Hospital for some years before she and her husband purchased and managed Sturgeon Lake Oil Co which they operated for 18 years. They sold the business and she had been enjoying semiretirement. 

Debra was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Harvey Pietila; husband, Daniel; daughter, Jeri Matten and brother, Gerald “Griz”.

Debra is survived by her sons, Jamie (Tabitha), Jesse (Landa) and Jason;  son-in-law, David Matten; grandchildren, Samantha Gordon, Steven Gordon, Amanda Zimmer, Aaron Matten, Danni Matten, Izaac Zimmer and Alia Zimmer; brothers Gary Routsalainen, Steven Pietila, and Alan Pietila.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, November 16, from 5PM until the 6 PM Memorial Service in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. 


Private inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.
