Not sure what to say?

Dear Marilyn and David and family, Although very belated, I extend my sincere condolences on Dee´s passing. Besides his work as an outstanding Kinesiologist he was a kind, thoughtful loving man I remember from our friendship in Ann Arbor years ago. May God´s Peace be with you all. Warmly, David Ellies

Dee's legacy will continue for generations. He changed the way that many of us thought about population health. But he was not only a great scientist, influencer, and teacher, Dee was a great person. He was compassionate, patient, and willing to help others around him. I keep hoping that I will meet another person like Dee, but that's probably not going to happen. God made only one of him, and the world is a better place because of it. Miss you, Dee.

Oh how we learned from Dee and valued his wit and humor. He changed the entire field of health promotion and the personal and professional lives of many people. Bless you Dee.

I partnered with Dr. Edington on a project when I worked with UnitedHealth Group. I was asked to try to replace the health risk assessment that Dee created. There were 17 questions that we had to order rank. I quickly realized that the number of possible solutions was 17 factorial which is a very large number with about 19 zeros after it. Realizing that even the most thoughtful insights made my problem impossible to solve. My limited insight on math made me realize how valuable Dr....

Marilyn I just heard of Dee's passing in a conversation I had with Vic this morning. You and your family will be in my thoughts. Dee gave me the opportunity to start my consulting career. We created a corporate workout and fitness area for a feldgling pizza company on south State Street, DOMINOES. He was a great colleague and a true gentleman. He will be missed and remembered Bill+

Dee was a member of our BigTen (or CIC) Kinesiology group of chairs, directors, and deans. We usually met in Chicago. I represented the MSU Kinesiology Department. Dee always had thoughtful comments and challenged us in how we thought about the future of our field within our respective universities. "All politics are local" was a favorite phrase of his. Dee was a recipient of MSU's Kinesiology Professional Achievement Award. We are proud to have him as one of our alums.

I remember Dr. Edington from my days as an undergraduate at U of M, and he was always so nice to his students. Then, during graduate school at MSU I discovered he was an alumnus. He was helpful to me with placing a master's student intern and always so nice. What a wonderful person! He will be missed.

Dear Edington Family, I am so deeply saddened to hear of Dee´s passing. Dee had such a profound effect on my life by taking  me on as a young graduate student and encouraging me for years afterwards to make something meaningful of my time at Michigan. Thanks to him, I was able to build a career and help others along the way.  I'm forever grateful to him and fortunately had the opportunity to share with him my heartfelt appreciation. My thoughts are you during this difficult time.  Peter Saravis

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Edington for the last three editions of my Lifestyle Medicine textbook where he served as a section editor for the Health Promotion section. I chose him because of his stellar reputation. He was a pleasure to work with. He leaves an enormous legacy and I will miss him. James Rippe, MD
