Dee Saunders

I am sad for all of us that Dee is gone and grateful I knew her. I was one of her Girl Scouts in Troop 613, and she was a second mother to me. Dee was so energetic and resourceful as a Girl Scout leader and taught city girls like me to camp, build fires, and ride horses. I will never forget our trip to Mexico when we fifteen years old. Mrs. Saunders was a lively presence whenever Stephanie's friends visited the Saunders' house, which was often. She had the great ability to talk with young people and to actively listen in a way that made us feel heard and appreciated for our opinions. That's a rare skill, but it's what made her a great teacher and Girl Scout leader. The SPCA has a donation coming in her memory. My condolences to the entire family.
