Delano was a kind soul with a big heart. He was the son of Jimmy Parker and Patricia Hodgers. Delano was born November 8, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri. At an early age he moved to Flint, Michigan with his mom where he resided for the remainder of his life. Lano attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Flint Northern High School. After graduating Lano attended college briefly, Lano returned to St. Louis, Missouri. There he worked as an Insurance Agent for J&C Insurance Company. Upon returning to Flint, he worked at Delphi, Jabil, Brighton Interiors, and Eberspacher. Although he was not a wealthy man, he was a rich man. He was rich with humility, compassion, unselfishness, love, loyalty, laughter, and good friends. He enjoyed many things, but sports were his all-time favorite. He was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan, but he LOVED the Detroit Lions hands down! The most important thing to him was his son JR, the love of his life. Everyone Lano met eventually became a friend. He enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends, always right there whenever you needed him, helping and giving but expecting nothing. During his life he overcame many obstacles rarely complaining. Now Delano shall receive his reward, he has been made new basking in God’s glory.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son Delano Parker Jr., sisters Felicia (James) Suggs and Nakia Hodgers, brother, Gerald Dennis, aunts, Joanna Pittman, Pamelia Dennis, and Carolyn (Kenneth) Erby, uncle, Barry Dennis; nieces, Ebony, Youneek, Kenyata, Shardai, Shavonda, Celeste, Eva, Kailey, Tajae; nephews, Maurice and Lafeyette.
Delano had a host of great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved with all his heart. Lano shared a special bond with cousin Bridgette Parker and Mrs. Mitchell was like a second mom. He also leaves his crew and childhood friends; Reggie Mitchell John Clark, Darryl Mackey, Bennie Manns, Ronnie Walker, Eddie Hughes, Earnie Washington, Vincent Lang, Billy McDonald, Carlos Fordham and Marcus Fordham.
Delano was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Hodgers, father, Jimmy Parker, stepfather, Robert Hodgers and niece, Portia Turner.
To my nephew, rest in peace. I will truly miss our conversation and laughter that we shared over the years. Love Always, Aunt Joanna Atlena Pittman

We spent much time together in our youth. It is the memories of youth and the passage of time that I reflect upon. It is with the deepest of sadness that I express my condolences. You will always be loved and missed.
