Delbert E. Shinn

SHINN Delbert E. Shinn, age 86, of Reynoldsburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born in Charleston, WV on May 16, 1925 to the late Floyd and Mary Shinn. As a young man Delbert joined the US Army and proudly served his country during WWII in Europe. He was a long time member of Jersey Baptist Church, where he was a Gideon, served as greeter, usher, and went on visitations. Delbert had a long and successful career as a machinist at North American Rockwell (Boeing). He also enjoyed a second career with Kroger Grocery, retiring at the young age of 83. He enjoyed many things in life, but loved spending time with family and friends. Delbert was a very kind, loving and giving person. He is preceded in death by his wife Frances, seven brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy (Michael) Hiser; grandchildren, Kimberly (Eric) Rung, Kevin (Allison) Hiser; great-grand-children, Hailey and Hayden Rung; sister-in-law, Margaret Joyce Synder; nephew, James (Denise) Snyder; and several nieces; nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011.
