Not sure what to say?

I'm sorry to hear this. Miss Houghton was a teacher who expected the very best from her studrnts. I can't remember the Latin, but I do remember "All Gaul was divided into three parts'. It was the first line in our fat little Latin
book. Every day except for lessons on tenses and tests (on yellow onion paper) we read the tales of the Gauls. We knew exactly which sentence we'd have to read, as she always went in our seating order. If someone was out sick, there was a mad scramble to...

I have know Delia since I was a little boy, I stayed the house that used to be behind Delias my mother and Delia were best friends and my grand father is Havery Schoppee

Delia was one of the finest cousins I have. We shared many visits. She was a joy to be with. She and my Mom, (Barbara Schoppee Larracey), were best friends.

As a young teacher in Machias in 1958, Delia was the most respectd and respectable of all of us. Her grand stateliness without effort was just one thing that made her special. What made her very special was her sense of caring.

Every time I see yellow onion-skin
paper, I think of Miss Houghton and
her French and Latin tests. She was
consistent and considerate, and demanded and deserved the respect of her students.

A superior teacher and friend. I shall always remember her with fondest memories. Class of '50.
