Not sure what to say?

I am here on behalf of my Brother. We visited Dr Delmar Caldwell on a consult from Dr Lafleur in Opelousas. My Brother had a eye condition that blind him in one eye. We drove to Tulane as requested early in the am, praying. Dr D. Caldwell introduced himself and explained to us what our Doc had shared . He examined my Brother's eye and diagnosed what Dr Lafleur had shared with him. He explained to him what he had and what treatment was needed. We traveled to Tulane weekly, than every...

I just learned of his passing and sit here humbled to have known this Legend . I think we all have this one moment that when we think of someone it´s the thought that pops in your mind and makes you smile . For me that moment is in Mexico in a mission trip . It was so hot and everyone was tired . We pushed in and often try to make one another laugh to keep the momentum going . He had just finished a case I was scrubbing one on the table beside him . He look over and raises one side of his lip...

I am truly saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Caldwell. He first diagnosed my glaucoma in 1995 and has done several surgeries and treatments to help with my vision. My rare eye condition would always be a "look see" for his students; I didn´t mind at all. He would always ask if they could take a look, and after a while I would just say, bring them all in, it´s a party! He was MY Doctor. He´d always say, "When you have a problem, just come in; I´ll always see you." I did...and he would! He...

What an incredible man!

I met Dr Caldwell in 1982. He was eating popcorn while interviewing me for a position in ophthalmology. It's been over 40 years now, twenty years in ophthalmology and twenty years as a medical coder for Tulane. I credit my career to Dr.Caldwell for trusting and believing in me. Dr Caldwell was also a comedian telling jokes while passing through my office. I'm honored to have known and worked with you Dr Caldwell. Thank you RIP

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so thankful to have been able to experience Dr. Caldwell's genuine kindness and care for his work and his patients. He was my mother's eye doctor until she passed away at 93 and I last saw him as a patient a few months ago. My prayers go out to his family.
