Delores Barnes

Delores Barnes, 82, of Willingboro passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at home. Born in Cincinnati, OH she was raised in Alabama prior to moving to New Jersey. Delores worked as a Home Health Aide for many years and was a member of Acts Gospel University Church in Hightstown. She enjoyed shopping and working in her garden. Known to many as Mother Barnes, she lived a simple life and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Daughter of the late Coley and Mae Reaver Marshall, Delores was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William Barnes, Jr.; two children, Evelyn Marshall and David Barnes and her siblings, Evie Hester, Nellie Anderson, and Carnell Marshall. She is survived by her children, Ronald and Lisa Marshall, Elizabeth Barnes Powell, Judy and John Johnson and Thomas and Sonya Barnes; her grandchildren, Victoria, Crystal and Jamilla Marshall, John IV and Janell Johnson, Dwayne, Darnella, Brandon, Devon and Jordan Barnes; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Jebri, Tionna, Javaughan, Arahliena, Elijah, Layla, Londyn, Mya, and Evelyn as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 10th from 11-12pm with a funeral service to begin at 12pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown.
