Baier Family Funeral Services - Paxton Obituary

Delores D. Coplea, 79, of Rantoul; formerly of Paxton, died at 12:02 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Heartland Healthcare Center of Paxton.


Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton with Reverend Jennifer Hartweg-Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.


Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Friday, December 5, at the funeral home.


Delores was born August 25, 1935 in Loda a daughter of Clarence A. and Grace M. Carlson Wagner. She married Russell E. Coplea June 4, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. He preceded her in death March 12, 2010.


She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Coplea of Urbana; four sisters, Betty Dwyer of Sun City, AZ, Linda (Charles) Warren of Paxton, Karolyn Wagner of Charleston, MS, Debbie (Richard) Johnson of Fisher and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Judith DeAtley and two brothers-in-law, Joe Dwyer and Bob DeAtley.


Delores graduated from Loda High School in 1953. She was supervisor of accounting for Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative and retired after 43 years of employment. She then served as Treasurer of the City of Paxton for several years.


Her hobbies included tole painting, ballroom dancing, crocheting and square dancing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
