Born June 23, 1945, in Sibley, Iowa, Delores was the oldest child of eleven children born to Oran and Phyllis (Stevens) Hassebroek.  She grew up on a farm southwest of Sibley, Iowa, and received her elementary education at Holman #17 school.  She graduated from Sibley High School in 1963.  Delores earned a degree in Paralegal Studies from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska.  She was a career employee with the State of Iowa where she held positions of Fraud Investigator, Revenue Agent and Paralegal.  Her last position was with Iowa Workforce Development where she worked as a paralegal in the Tax Bureau.  She also was a part-time J.C. Family was first in her life and she enjoyed attending events that her nieces and nephews, and later great-nieces and great-nephews, participated in.  Leisure time activities she enjoyed are sewing, live theater, the symphony, and reading.  She was an excellent self-taught Crocheter, making Afghans for all her brothers and sisters.
