Not sure what to say?

I realize this is 15 years later, but I taught Avis McGhee at Utoy Springs elementary. Mrs McGhee helped me get hired by Dekalb schools after I returned to teaching after having my children. I´ve never forgotten her kindness and have often wondered what Avis is up to these days! If anyone sees this and can get in touch with Avis I´d really appreciate it. Your and your family are in my prayers. Delores and I go way back in Jacksonville, Florida. The children in the neighborhood on Phelp Street look forward for "Mittie" to visit her family members every summer. That friendship between us last for a lifetime. She will be remember as one of the greatest teachers of Matthew W. Gilbert High School located here in Jacksonville, Florida. Thanks so much for calling me. I am going to miss her,

To the McGhee Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved mother, grandmother and friend. I attended FAMC with your mother and your father and remember them both fondly.
I will keep the family in prayer.

To the family of Delores McGhee,
Your Mother and I served on the Fulton County Board of Education together in the mid 1970's. We worked well together and accomplished some things that had not been done before. She was the first woman member and I was the second! I remember her with fondness and remember Avis more than Kirk, she talked about you, Avis, a lot when we were together. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. She will always be close to you in your...

To the family of Delores McGhee,

Accept my deepest sympathy. Family please know that your mom is always with you. She is just a breath away.

Avis, Kirk & Gary,

I loved your mother as if she were my own. Such a pleasant, smart, warm, beautiful, wonderful woman. I so enjoyed our many many great conversations over the last twenty years. I really just loved her so much, as I do all of you. I'm just grateful that I got to see her and give her a kiss before she left our earthly presence. She will be missed but so fondly and lovingly remembered.

Avis,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. Although your mother is no longer on this earth, she will forever remain in your hearts.

To the family of Delores McGhee,

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. McGhee's death . A friend called me today with the sad news. I remember her with much respect when Avis and Kirkland were students in Burgess School and she was active in the PTA and in support of our teachers.

I wish you to know what a wonderful mother you had. My love to the family.

Dr. Peggy A. Geren

Hey Kirk and Avis-

So sorry to hear about the recent passing of your mother. She was quite a woman and I know she will be missed. May your memories sustain you in the days ahead.

P.S. Sorry you could not make it to the WHS reunion. If you are on Facebook, check out the I Went to Westwood High School page.
