Delores Murray entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at home in Lexington Park, Maryland. She was born in Washington D.C. on August 23, 1943, the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Proctor. She was educated in Washington D.C. Public Schools.
Delores was a laundry assistant by trade. She loved and cherished her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and would often do so with her family. She traveled to places like Bamberg, Germany, Charlotte, North Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia, The Bahamas, and Jamaica. Delores enjoyed family gatherings and she could often be found spending time with her children and grandchildren for girls' days, movie night, spa days at home and many other activities. She was an amazing cook and passed many of her skills and recipes to her family. One of her favorite past times was watching TV. She had a very eclectic taste in television programs. Delores would often enjoy shows like In the Heat of the Night, Murder She Wrote, Castle, Hawaii Five-0, and Little House on the Prairie. She enjoyed shopping in stores like Walmart and the Dollar Store. She also loved to find interesting trinkets at yard sales.
Delores leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy, her three daughters, Dorothy Proctor, Lisa Murray, and Vanessa Murray-Brownlee (Bobby Brownlee); two sons, Tyrone Murray (Damita Butler) and Anthony Murray; four granddaughters, Vantaya Briscoe, Ashley Proctor, Shanikqua Smith, and Tyshay Murray; three grandsons, Dewayne Fenwick, Dionta Fenwick, and Tyreek Murray; two great grandchildren, Autumn Fenwick and Envy Lake; her cousin, Genevieve Whiting and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Proctor; her mother, Dorothy Proctor, and her grandmother, Beatrice Dent.
Family and friends will unite on Friday, November 12, 2021 for a Memorial Service; visitation at 10 am until time of service at 11 am at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 38576 Brett Way, Mechanicsville, MD. Interment will be private.
