Not sure what to say?

Just learned of this almost 20 years after the fact. It's sad that we fall out of touch with those who touch our lives. Doc Gier was a special person who helped so many reach and achieve their dreams. My experience was at Cleveland Chiropractic College with Doc in biochemistry. I still remember how he would chew on a piece of chalk as an antacid. My organic chem experience was not with Doc Gier to my own misfortune. After reading the experiences of others here, I wish it had been as OC is a...

Thank you Dr. Gier , you were a significant part of my education and career.

"Pop" was a special person to me. He lifted my aspirations and he gave me confidence that I could achieve my dreams.

I have always remembered Dr. Gier as a kind, gifted intellectual who loved what he did. He made chemistry a breeze for me at Lea College, and was always ready to give individual attention to his students. I am so very grateful that he and Audra made it to the Lea Reunion in 2003, and missed them at the last one in 2006. It was wonderful to see them and talk to them again.
Dr. Gier, I will always remember your kind heart and genuine goodness. You will be greatly missed.

Doc was the one teacher that has stood out from all other teachers. He taught and made sure you understood it. Lea College and those who took his classes were more privledged than many, many others at big name schools. Thank you and Audra for being there! Seeing you at the reunion in 2003 was worth the trip and more fond memories. God bless!

Thank you "Doc Gier" for your warm, loving soul and your gift to make Organic Chemistry understandable during my privilege to know you during "Tri-zero" at Park College in 1989. You are missed by many...but not forgotten.

I guess my relationship with Doc started the day I was traveling through Kansas City. With his encouragement, I took on 20 credit hours of chemistry in one semester. Since I had failed my High School Chemistry Class, he started me out with :Let's just say I am an electron and you are a proton." Through his guidance I eventually became a tutor in Chemistry...God Bless Doc...He showed me how chemistry could change the world. He did that for me... Thanks Doc....May we meet again.

Dr....

Doc Gier will be missed. He was a teacher who truly taught. I couldn't have made it through without him.

Doctor Gier helped me to understand that which I thought I never could. Most importantly he knew the "how" to teaching.
Thank you "Doc".
