Lake Cumberland Funeral Home - Somerset Obituary

Delvin Lee Stogsdill, age 61, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.


 


He was born on September 23, 1957 in Somerset, KY to Delno Stogsdill and Margaret Slavey Stogsdill.  Delvin graduated from Shopville High School in 1975.  He was a member of Whetstone Baptist Church and retired as a Mechanic from Oakwood. Devin loved NASCAR racing, farming and spending time with his family.  


 


He is survived by his wife, Juanita Fraley Stogsdill, whom he married on May 2, 1980; one sister, Lois (and Phillip) Mounce of Somerset; his beloved pets whom he adored; several nieces and nephews; and three aunts, Pauline Sears, Althen Bolton and Evelyn Jones.


 


He was preceded in death by three uncles, Leroy Slavey, James Slavey and Leo Stogsdill; one aunt, Irene Whitaker; brother-in-law, Rick (and Shirl) Tucker, mother-in-law, Shirley Armstrong; father-in-law, Walter T. Fraley; and one niece, Connie Michelle Duncan.


 


Visitation will be on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.


 


His funeral service will follow on Saturday at 3:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Lonnie Sewell officiating.  Burial will be at Whetstone Cemetery.
