Demetrius Antonio Reed, "Tootie", age 54 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023. Tootie was born August 18th, 1968, in Kansas City, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
Tootie was the 3rd of 6 children born to Earlene and Jerry Reed. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Harmon High School. He was in the Navy and considered himself to be a Jack of all Trades.
Tootie was a happy-go-lucky young man, who could make friends with anybody. He loved pushing the limits and living life to the fullest. He loved spending time at the library with his granddaughter Geneva. He loved dancing, watching movies, and thought, in his mind, he was the best rapper never heard of and even thought he could hold a tune (not). He loved listening to music of all genres and most importantly he loved his family.
Tootie loved sitting around sharing childhood memories, cracking jokes, playing cards, getting on your nerves, and making you mad, which never lasted long. He was raised in the church and introduced to God at an early age and even though he strayed and made a lot of mistakes in his life, in the end, he drew nearer to God by rededicating his life.
Demetrius is survived by his mother, Earlene; his 2 brothers, Jerry and James;his 3 sisters, Charlene, Latonia, and Alicia; his aunt, Alice, his 3 daughters, Jessica, Roxanna and Brittany; his grandchildren, Geneva and Demetrius; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
Thoughtful care and services provided by E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel, Inc.
