Dena Davis Smith

GASTON—Memorial service for Dena Davis Smith, 59, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007, in the Chapel of 8 Funeral Home of Lexington, officiating will be Rev. Dallas E. Goff. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.

Mrs. Smith passed away on Saturday. Born in Cedar Bluff, VA she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Janie Earls Davis. Formerly of Romulus, Michigan she has been an area resident since 1984. She was a member of State Full Gospel Church and employed by Jewelry Warehouse.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 45 years, Darrell Smith of Gaston; daughter and son-in-law, Delena and Richard Pate of Gaston; son, Derek Smith of Fairview; two grandchildren, Leiren and Hannah Pate both of Gaston; sister, Kathryn Clark of Cedar Bluff, VA, brother James Clarence Davis of Cedar Bluff, VA. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her sister Bonita Sue Davis.
