Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home & Crematory Obituary

If all the world's a stage, and we are merely players with many parts, then Denis Leroy Arndt exited a life well lived at 86. Born in Clyde, OH on February 23 to Bryce and Arlene, he was a devoted son and brother to sisters Joyce and Darlene. After moving to Spokane, WA he discovered his love of...

Not sure what to say?

I met Mr. Arndt in Ashland, Oregon in the early 1970's. He was a co-actor with my boyfriend, Ernie Stewart, in the play Othello. He was a very special man and I pray his precious family are comforted in his loss. May you be blessed with the Peace of G-D and every wonderful memory of this gifted man...We are also a military family, and I would love to know how to contact the family. Respectfully, Lori West

I am so sorry to hear of Denny´s passing. He and my late ex, Stephen Markle, were close friends and we saw a lot of him when we lived in LA in the early `90s. He was so funny and generous and charming. I was sad not to have seen his legendary stage work but was so happy he was such a success in Heisenberg. My deepest condolences to the family.

I became an admirer of his work over many seasons at OSF Ashland. One stand out performance was his Theodore "Hickey" Hickman in "The Iceman Cometh." A brilliant performance.

so sorry to read about mr arndt's passing. condolences to his precious family. Godspeed! Scott

I was a fan of Mr. Arndt, seeing him first when I visited the Shakespearean festival in Ashland. At this moment, I am watching a rerun of The Practice, and he is portraying an attorney. Since the first time I saw him perform, I have been a fan of his. And now the world is diminished with his passing.

I was a regular attendee at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the 1970s and early 1980s, and one of the greatest pleasures was to watch Denis Arndt weave his magic on stage. I will never forget his performances as Jack Rover in "Wild Oats" and Iago in "Othello". He was a gift to every theater audience that had the privilege of being in his presence. I share your sorrow at the loss of this amazingly gifted man.

A VERY FUNNY SWEET GENTLEMAN WHO MADE IT A POINT TO COME THROUGH MY CHECKSTAND AT SAFEWAY IN ASHLAND TO SHARE A JOKE OR 2 WITH ME... RIP
