I meet Denis while stationed at VP-8 in Maine. I was a rescue swimmer prior to meeting him. He and I spoke many times about what he needed to do to become a crewmember within this community. I watched Denis grow advance the next couple of years and he was so excited when he found out he got an "A" school. I knew he would excel in which ever field he chose. I first met Dennis in Maine and in a very short time, he became a very good friend of mine and i miss dearly. We lost contact when we went our ways do to deployments. I was shocked to hear this news not too long ago and I'm sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences goes out to the Miranda family.
