Denis and I talked often about the issues we cared about. Just the other week, he told me he had donated to Earthjustice, a legal organization that defends the environment against harmful policies. I always admired Denis's courage to care deeply and act on it -- he donated to advocacy organizations, wrote to state legislators, and never stopped learning.
