Denise "Latrice" Hawkins


Denise "Latrice" Hawkins, age 49 was born on April 25, 1975, in New Orleans, LA was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Denise graduated from George Washington Carver High School.  Denise is remembered by her humbled personality and golden heart. Denise leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter D’Maya and son D’Michael; her father Anthony Carter (Pauline); her siblings Latasha Hawkins, and Lawrence Thomas Miller Jr. (Lakeisha); her aunts Felicia Hawkins, Mattie Carter, Rena Lyons, and Bobbie Johnson; her uncles Russell Carter (Rose), and Charles Carter; her step siblings Jerome, Paul and Melvin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Denise is preceded in death by her mother Carolyn Hawkins, sister Laquinta Hawkins, brother Royal Jones, grandmothers Margaret Carter, and Ruby Rucker, Grandfather Ernest Carter, Sr.; aunt, Mary Ann Carter; uncles Ernest Carter, Jr., Gregory Rucker, Errol Hawkins, Dwayne Hawkins and cousins Corey Perossier, Robert Carter, Sr. and Laburta Doyle. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home, 2120 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Private Burial.
