Buck was a long time friend; first met him when I was a photographer on the Los Angeles Times, and he was involved with rodeos and horses and the publicity therein.

I’m so sorry to hear about Bucker’s passing. He was a true gentleman, a great horseman, and a wonderful man. Bucker’s obit was beautifully written. Thank you for sharing your insight about your grandfather.
Will there be a service for Bucker? I would like pay my respects, to say thank you for the years he came to the Swallow’s Inn, and to say “Vaya con Dios” my friend.
(I’m the former owner of the Swallow’s Inn)

I am saddened by the news ! I knew Buck from Mission Viejo Company. I worked at the equestrian center and I helped Buck with his horses. Buck was a one of a kind man who was genuine, true, kind & loving ! He was so genuine if he liked you you knew it if he didn’t like you you knew it there was nothing phony about Buck And he wanted to be a cowboy in the worst way and was born a century too soon but in the short time that he tried to be one he accomplished a lot more than most I’ll miss you...

I worked with Buck as a young reporter and wrote a profile of him. The lead sentence was “Buck Bean was born 100 years too late,” recognizing that he was a cowboy, just in a later era.
He was a good guy.
