Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary


DUNN, Dennis C. – Of Flint, age 69, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.  


Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Dan Westermann officiating.  


Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.  


Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  


A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday by the VFW Post #822 at the funeral home.  


Dennis was born in Flint, Michigan on March 14, 1948, the son of Glenn and Elizabeth (Kerner) Dunn.  


He graduated from Grand Blanc High School. He went to Gould Pump School in New York. 


He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970 and served in Korea during the USS Pueblo Incident. 


Mr. Dunn attained rank of Spc. 4 and was Honorably Discharged.  


He was a life member of VFW Post #822, Flint, Michigan. He served 10 years on the Honor Guard.    


Mr. Dunn was owner/operator of Dunn & Sons Pump and Well Service.  


Surviving are children, Dennis W. and wife Amy Dunn, Jeff and wife Rebekah Dunn, Bobby and wife Kathy Dunn;  


grandchildren, Shanna and husband Joe, Samantha and Nicholas;  


one great-grandchild, Landon; 

brothers, Glenn and Mike; 

sister, Barbara.  


He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Kay Dunn in 2013 and sister-in-law, Jerilynn.

Thanks for treating me like one of the boys You and Kay were the best!! We had a lot of great times at the club you Kay and aunt Sharron singing playing cards. You taught me a lot about wells and life your boys will always be my brothers

I love you dad. Always have and always will. I did all i could and would do it again for you. Im so proud to have called to dad.

I'll forever think of you when I hear ' Up on the Roof ' remembering our 4th of July antics and the hoist truck. We have had so many fun times and many many laughs. Give Kay a big hug for us.. RIP Brother.

Denny, Jeff and Bobby, I am so sorry about big Denny. We had a lot of fun back in the day. I pray that God keeps y'all in the palm of his hands and gives y'all comfort and peace. He is now with his love!

So very sorry for your loss. I have many great conversations with Denny at the VFW. I will miss him.
