Dennis Edmonds, 72, of Wilmington, NC passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016.


Born April 6, 1943 in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late Charles Joseph Edmonds and Mary Liberda Edmonds.


Dennis loved his family, and treasured time spent with his grandchildren. His company was truly enjoyed by his friends.


He was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where he was an active member. He belonged to the 10-13 Club and the Knights of Columbus. He was a New York City Police Officer for 25 years and was enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of retirement.


Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Geraldine Edmonds; his sons, Dennis Edmonds (Brenda), Christopher Edmonds (Linda), Kevin Edmonds (Daienna), and Timothy Edmonds (Michelle); his grandchildren, Chelsea, Connor, Megan, Nicholas, Julia, Kevin, Ryan, Gracie and Carlie; and his brother, Gregory Edmonds (Linda).


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Monday, March 28, 2016 at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412. Interment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Castle Hayne, NC

I had the pleasure to know and work with Dennis in the 110pct. He was truly a great guy and a great cop. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. Both Dennis and his family will be in my prayers. Rest in Peace My Brother.
