I was blessed to have called Denny "Grandpa" for most of my life. He was a great man that was filled with contagious wisdom, patience, and love. He almost always had a smile on his face; rarely complaining about a thing. He was always one to lead by good example, and always willing to lend a hand. He taught me, perhaps, more than he realized because he was ever so humble. He was a great person, a wonderful grandfather, and one of my heroes.

We count it a privilege to have had the opportunity to know Denny through our family connection. Esther (nee Brassow) is his niece. He was also a great help to us at Faith Lutheran in Dexter, when we needed some earth moving done. We always enjoyed our visits to their farm and other opportunities we had to get together. His faith in Jesus Christ was open for all to see and his faithfulness was a beautiful testimony to his Savior. We know he is with his heavenly Father and we'll get to see...

My sincere condolences to the Engelbert family. I knew Mr. Englebert years ago from the farm on Saline-AA Rd. and went to Lodi country school with John and Janet. Mr. Englebert was always such a nice man, I know he will be missed. My prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.

Dear Kay and family,
You are in our hearts and prayers at this most difficult time. I'm so glad you "waved me over" at Zion's Sauerkraut Supper and they we could chat. It was such a surprise to read Sunday's paper. Mom died just before Christmas and I was most thankful for friends who suggested I remember the reason for the season. May your future Thanksgivings celebrate Denny's life -- sharing thanks for the spouse, father and farmer.
God's blessings,
Earl and Kay Heller
