Not sure what to say?

Somehow, I missed this. I'm headed to Albuquerque this weekend and will think of him. I took lessons and flew out of the Balloonport on Thompson Road. At one time, "Tony" was there and Denny asked if I wanted to inflate him. I declined as I had recently had a nightmare that I set one on fire during inflation. He just laughed. What great memories of a great sport. - Ruth Ann Knapp, Saginaw, MI - Student of Bob Matoy

I was so saddened to hear of his passing. I had lunch with him just this past January 2025 and he seemed to be doing great. We laughed for a couple of hours. Like so many Denny was the reason I got into commercial ballooning and I have recently written a book about it. There are tons of great photos of Denny on my website www.theballoonatics.com doing what he loved best. Soft landings, my great friend! Craig Elliott

Gloria and I remembered Denny since we were roommates ar University of Michigan. Our condolences to his family in these date of grievance. Rest in Peace good friend Denny

My wife and I could sit and listen to His stories & accomplishments in His life for hours while visiting Our neighbor on AMI . We will Truly miss Him Tony & Salena

I always remember Capt Phogg at the balloon rallys. My Mom and I chased him a few days before the KAIBF and he gave us kids a bunch of memorabilia.

It was good knowing you and flying with you, Captain. May you float in peace.

It was an honor to have known Denny. Such a brilliant soul. Shared a lot of nice and fun times on Anna Maria Island. Fly high my friend, until we meet again.
