Not sure what to say?

I'm so sorry I didn't get to make connections with Dennis before he passed away. He was my high school French teacher in Rockmart in 1961-63. I have just recently written a vignette about what a wonderful foundation he gave me in French. I ended up teaching French at Mercer for 42 years. He was a fine teacher & motivator. I also fondly recall Judy's geometry class. If she can email me, I'll be happy to send her my vignette. Trish & I pray for the family's comfort & encouragement.

What a legend! I was fortunate enough to take Latin with Mr. Greene just before he retired for the 3rd, 4th, or 5th time (but who was keeping count?) in the late 90s and early 2000s. His classes were amazing. Not only did he teach us Latin, but about the structure and importance of language, which has so helped me in my work in theater. I remember his deadpan wit, his amazing storytelling ability (especially about his growing up days in the wilds of NC), and how at least once a week he...

Dear Mrs Greene and family, I was sad to hear of Mr Greene's passing. I was in his Latin classes at DHS in the late 90s and loved coming to class and hearing his stories about dogs, and his cabin, and the mountains and the 60s! I still think of him frequently, he was a formative part of my teen years. I am a physician now and learning anatomy was much easier because of his Latin classes!
Fondly, Mimi Choate

My sincere condolences to you and your family, Judy. Dennis was a kind, intelligent, and gentle man who would light up any room he entered!! His smile was priceless, and the one thing I will remember most about him. All of us who knew him were given a gift to remember and to cherish.

Mr. Greene was a loyal teacher and fan of Decatur High School. I was not in any of his classes, but I did go on the trip to Europe in 1969 with fellow students. He also has attended just about all of 1969 Class Reunions including our 50th in October, 2019. He will truly be missed.

I pray that the Lord will be with you and your family, Judy. Uncle Dennis will be remembered for his kind spirit and sweet, loving ways. He was a very admirable man. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
