I became friends with Dennis when we both attended Arcata High. We had many great times surfing, riding our motorcyles, and camping. I will always remember the twinkle in his eyes and his laugh. We shared some truly great times. My wife Rosetta and I want to send our heartfelt condolences to Julie and the entire family.

I knew Dennis for 40 + yrs. But my best memories are of Dennis w/ his classic 9-8 Gordon & Smith surfboard at Moonstone beach in the 60's. Looking back i don't know how we did it. Cold water, hardly any wesuits, no "board leashes" made for some long swims from the outside break to shore when we'd lose our boards. Dennis just laughed, as he always did. My sincere condolonces to family, and aloha Dennis.
