Read MoreI last saw Dan at an Ensley High School alumni reunion in Birmingham several years ago,I still have the printed program from that event. Dan was EMCEE along with Frank Bonds. I remembered Dan then as I do now, as a caring person. I never forgot him even though we lost contact in the in between years. Condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. D.L. "Dan" Ireland was a stalwart Christian statesman. His stand for the gospel and Christian values provided a stability to our state and beyond. I am forever grateful for his willingness to stand by preachers like me and to provide encouragement and godly counsel. He will be missed on earth but I believe the Lord has a great reward for him in heaven. I pray the Lord will give peace and comfort to his dear wife and family.
