Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Dorothy Joy; and daughter, Jessica Joy. Survived by wife, Katherine Kardell Joy; children, Joshua (Dan Hinrichsen) Joy, Joanna (Scott) Scheideler; grandchildren, Ruby, Violet, Gray, Forest; siblings Sue, (Ted) Kopczynski, Victor Joy; and many friends and family.
Private Graveside Service will be held. In lieu of flowers please donate to National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, Leukemia And Lymphoma Society of Nebraska or Make-a-Wish Foundation of Nebraska.

John and I have such wonderful memories of Denny as a caring, wonderful father and husband, who showed love and compassion, and had a lot of joy. Our prayers are with your family and our joy is in his heavenly reward.

Katherine, Sue, Victor and extended family, I was saddened to hear of Denny's passing. We grew up together in York and attended YHS and played on the football team. I have very fond memories of hunting pheasants together and generally doing what teen age boys do! The last time I was with Denny was in Lincoln several years ago where we played golf with other members of our high school class. Although I ended up living in Colorado and California my Mom would always update me on Denny and his family after she had spoken with Denny's Mom. I always think of Denny as a rock solid midwesterner; big physically but a big teddy bear at heart who could always be counted on to keep his word. I am very sorry for your loss and hope you find strength and comfort in your memories.
